Eeli´s creative history
Eeli-Ethel Polli is member of the third generation of a family of famed artists from Estonia. Eeli creates with unique wheel thrown and hand-built ceramics in small series. All bowls have a unique pattern that Eeli paints with glazes on every piece separately. All ceramics are created in Denmark, Aarhus in her professional pottery studio and can be conceptualized like small pieces of art. She has a creative mind, so each ceramic piece varies in size and decoration individually. Minimalist, rustic, still usable pieces. Nature inspired and organic :).
Besides being ceramic artist Eeli has been working as graphic designer over 15 Years. She is illustrator and artist who creates giclee prints, original paintings, postcards and hand printed clothing. She has a BA in art, art education (teaching certification) and psychology from Tallinn University in Estonia (Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Art), 1993-99.
‘I like to describe my design style as minimalist, rustic and functional. Inspired by nature and organic in shape. I have lots of ceramics and pottery from a variety of artists, some very rare and hard to find. I place the pottery like small art objects in my living room, book shelves, and bathrooms. These handmade pieces tell a story and my friends who visit are always asking to find and hear about my newest piece. I live in new minimalist house with white walls and these ceramics give my home a rustic, earth-colored aesthetic’.
My work as seen in Country Homes & Interiors Magazine, in Juliet Contemporary Art Magazine, featured on Etsy’s blog in food series old recipe, new plate by Adrianna Adarme, in Etsy Finds, on Avenue Lifestyle design blog, on My Paradissi interior blog, Danish design blog Helt & aldeles, in Plumetis magazine, in Finnish food magazine Glorian Ruoka ja Viini, in Flo & Frank shop Handmade video.
