Materials: watercolor paper, acrylic paint, a thin black marker.

Cut the watercolor paper into pieces of appropriate size, postcards can also be a one-sided. Pick out your favorite acrylic colors and start working. Let the colors dry before you paint the new layer. Use a thin black marker to add details. Happy painting!

Be creative with me. Lesson 3. Cut old artwork in pieces and make a new collage.

Find your old drawings and paintings, which are incomplete, and try to make them a new work of art. I have found my old watercolors that were incomplete and I did not like them anymore. Usually I throw away failed paintings but now I had another idea.

Use some of the paintings as groundpaper and some of the drawings can you cut into pieces. Play around with the coloured pieces and when they've found the right place, glue the pieces on the groundpaper. I chose a dark coloured watercolor painting as my groundpaper and I decided to brighten the work up with bright, red and yellow pieces of paper.
Now go and work! Thank You!

Be creative with me. Lesson 2. Cut and clue paper collage.

Find a pretty colored papers, scissors, glue and a white base paper. Cut pieces of colored papers in various shapes, round, square and triangular. Before gluing pieces on paper, play with them and try a variety of compositions, try to find compositions where color and shape fit better together. If you have found the most inspiring compositions, glue pieces of paper on the base paper. In the workflow wash the glue off the hands a few times, it keeps the artwork clean. Once you have your work done, you can find interesting or funny titles to your piece. Here is my version of paper collage. Have a nice creating time!

Be creative with me: 1 lesson. Mixing colors.

I am going to start with mixing colors. You can choose some of your favorite colors and start to mix them with each other. They can surprise you and it is easier to make a painting with favorite colors when they are already on the paper. You can find some new shades, tones, mixes that are perfect. It is good exercise when you feel empty-stuck and dont know where to start. Probably many artist know the feeling. You have to remember, do not mix to many colors together, it gets to muddy. Adding more white color to the pure colors, you loose the brightnes and the mixes will look very pale. You can also write color names beside the dots, so next time you can remember which one is which. Hang the sheet up to your mood board, inspiration wall or sketch-book. I would like to see some of your sketches, so I can give some advice. And if you like, also share them on my blog. Just take photos of your sketches and send them to me on my email eeli@eeli.dk. Happy painting and we meet next week! Here I will share some of my work I painted to you for inspiration.
